A short walk from the car to a summit that looks out over the whole of Hemsedal. The tour starts above the treeline and the ground is open from the first step — a good first ski tour in the valley, and a quick morning summit once you know it.

The way in to Hornslie is a toll road paid by card: from Hemsedal centre follow rv52 east toward Gol, turn off for Torsetstølane, and above the treeline keep right and follow the road until it ends at the car park. From Hornslie, where Leinestølvegen ends at 1056 m, you climb the first pitch straight off. It is shorter than it looks — the first hundred-metre band, 1000–1100 m, averages 18.8° — and it flattens out over the lip. There is no forest to deal with: the entire tour runs in open terrain.
