Varden (Småtindan)
763 metres of ascent and 4.82 km from Eidet by Kabelvåg to the top Fri Flyt calls the most popular ski tour in the archipelago. The card carries both names the mountain has in the register — Varden and Småtindan — and the numbers are honest about what the tour is: the steepest 100-metre band measures 22.8 degrees between 600 and 700 metres, the steepest sustained stretch 32.3, and the line gives back 65 vertical metres along the way, most of it in the notch around Ørntinden and on the neck between two lakes whose ice cannot be assumed.

From the E10 west of Kabelvåg turn across the bridge signed for Eidet; the mapped Karlsvågen car park lies about 400 metres from the main road, at 2 metres. The lit ski trail — Damveien — starts 120 m north-east and runs north up the valley along the east side of Karlsvatnet.
